Gentle clarity for tender souls who need to know what to expect
If you’re neurodivergent, sensitive, or simply burned out by the noise of the world, stepping into something new — even something healing — can feel overwhelming.
You might be wondering:
· What will happen when I arrive?
· Will I have to talk a lot?·
· Will the horse be riding or groundwork?
· Will I be judged if I’m quiet, emotional, or need space?
This post is here to say: I see you. And you’re not alone.
So let’s take the pressure off and walk gently through what to expect in a session or workshop with The Quiet Herd.
You will be met where you are — not where someone thinks you “should” be
There is no pressure to be anything other than how you are on the day.Tired, overwhelmed, withdrawn, fidgety, teary — all of it is welcome.
You don’t have to explain yourself. You don’t have to be chatty or social. You just have to be you.
You don’t have to “do” anything with the horses
You might just sit in the field and breathe. You might walk quietly with a horse. You might share a moment of connection that needs no words.
This isn’t about performance. It’s about presence. And if something doesn’t feel right, we stop. There’s no obligation.
Silence is sacred here
Some sessions are quiet. Some are filled with stories or gentle tears. All are valid.
If you need silence, we’ll honour that. If you need to talk, we’ll hold that too. If you need to stim, cry, walk, swear, vent or just sit in the field — that’s all welcome.
Everything is invitational
This space is built on consent, clarity, and compassion. Nothing is forced. Everything is offered gently. And if your nervous system says no, that’s wisdom — not resistance.
Sessions and workshops are not about fixing you. They are about creating space — real, sensory, grounded space — for you to come home to yourself, with horses as your co-regulators.
And maybe, for the first time in a long time, feel what it’s like to be completely accepted.
You don’t have to prepare. You don’t have to prove. Just come as you are. The field will meet you.
